LBR Update (02-02-12)

February 2nd, 2012

Hi LBR fans! How’s everything going? Long time no talk, I know. I wanted to take a moment and explain what’s been happening here at Limit Break Radio. I know we haven’t released anything and other then brief vague statements on our Facebook and Twitter pages. I apologize to our fans who still want a LBR to listen to. Here’s where we’re at: none of the hosts of LBR still play Final Fantasy XI. Some of it has to do with lack of content on XI’s part, some of it has to do with the financial realities that the hosts are facing. But the fact still stands that most of the LBR hosts have no actual connection to XI. I’m hesitant to do a show with hosts that don’t play the game because those never work out well. I think things would start to get really negative on our part, and that’s not really what LBR is all about.

I feel, in LBR’s time, that we covered a great deal of content regarding Final Fantasy XI. I’m really proud of what we accomplished in the 5 years we have done this podcast. I’m just sorry we couldn’t keep it going longer. But I’ll be real honest. I’m burnt out on MMOs. So, I need a break; and I need to focus on what is really important: finding a new job. I’ve been 2 years out of work and I really need to find a job. Radio is a tough industry and it’s never been harder to catch a break in this industry then right now. I want to thank you all for your support of LBR over the years. It’s really been because of you that the show lasted as long as it did. Thank you so so much!

But, I will not say this is the end of LBR. Not yet. I feel like Square-Enix might have some tricks up their sleeves to bring players back to XI. I might get a job (and thus disposable income) tomorrow and start playing again. The future is very unpredictable and I’m no fortune teller. I’m kind of bummed, I even made a new intro for the show and never got to use it. Maybe we will one day.

So, I’m officially putting LBR on ‘hiatus’ status until further notice. Once again, thank you fans for your support over the years.

Scheduling Problems for Limit Break Radio episode 65

October 25th, 2011

Hey all, Aniero here…

Just wanted to let you know we’ve been planning and trying to record Limit Break Radio’s 65th episode but having a lot of scheduling problems. The plan is to have a roundtable discussion regarding Empyrean Weapons as well as talk about the new Final Fantasy XI October to March roadmap. However, due to the number of guests and an unfortunate power outage at the studio, we are having problems finding a day to do the show. Keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter pages for an announcement about the live show. We apologize for the delay.

Limit Break Radio 64 – Wings of Some Chick, or Something

August 31st, 2011

Limit Break Radio finally gets around to tackling the large topic of Wings of the Goddess missions. Joining Aniero, Juxtaposition and Tamtu for this episode are Theodus, Sharde and Toboe from the Phoenix server. We tread the topic lightly focusing on fights and quests and trying to keep the episode as spoiler free as we possibly can. This episode makes LBR history as the first show Aniero has ever had to leave early for (Aniero fans don’t worry, here’s there for, like, 80% of this episode). I’m sure Tamtu and Juxtaposition end the show in a highly professional manner.

Limit Break Radio forums to close August 15th 2011

August 6th, 2011

Hello everyone-

As you know, Limit Break Radio is preparing to make a full transition over to Gamer Escape and as we prepare to make a gradual transition we will be closing the LBR forums as of August 15th.

These forums have been very quiet in the last 8 weeks. If forums aren’t being used that, to me, says that it’s time to move discussions to either another location or format. We at LBR feel that a format shift, to something like a comment system or Twitter, wouldn’t be able to accurately serve those who like the community feeling of the forums as well as our Starbreakers. The good news is that we have started forming forums over at Gamer Escape for Limit Break Radio! We would like to encourage all of our users to register over at Gamer Escape or any of our subdomains and start posting in our forums on the Gamer Escape Radio forums.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this process or decision you can either post a response to this thread and I’ll be happy to address any issues publicly. I would also be happy to answer any questions by PM or email as well.

I would really like to thank everyone who has ever registered, posted, or even just read these forums. Thank you all so much for helping create a fun and vibrant community. We hope that this shift will reinvigorate the LBR community and we can continue that same spirit of openness, discussion and fun that we’ve had here at LBR for 5 years. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
