We’re back for the second part of our 2014 Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival coverage. Aniero and Nika are reporting from the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas, well, if we’re honest it’s mostly Nika because Aniero completely overdid himself in true Vegas fashion at the FFXIV Fan Fest After Party at Insert Coin(s). We continue to interview the greatest community in online games, snagging interviews with a ton of the cosplayers, Sonomaa Kihten of the legendary Order of the Blue Gartr, Joshua Grey host of the Official FFXIV Fan Fest Twitch Stream, cosplay judges KO Cosplay and Lisa Lou Who and SO many more! Thanks again to absolutely everybody who said hello, talked to us for an interview, took pictures with us, came out to Insert Coin(s), stepped up to our wrap up mic, posed for pictures, raided with us or helped us with gear. We met so many amazing people this weekend and this show isn’t possible without you guys. Please enjoy Part 2 of Limit Break Radio’s 2014 Final Fantasy XIV Fan Fest Special.
It’s Limit Break Radio’s coverage of the 2014 Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival from out at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas! What a weekend! There were so many amazing announcements: the new expansion Heavensward and the trailer that accompanied it, along with confirmation of a new playable race, huge new zones, new jobs, a level cap increase, and so much more. Plus a ton of 2.4 info and even some peeks into 2.5 as well. Aniero and Nika spent a lot of time talking to members of the community about their experiences at Fan Fest and their reactions to all the exciting announcements. We spend a little time with Matt Hilton of the Square-Enix community team, catch up with old friends and make new ones. This episode includes clips and interviews from the registration day and day 1 of Fan Fest as well as our wrap up recording in the Rio Pavilion right outside the convention doors. Keep an eye on our website for part 2 of our FanFest wrap up which will come out within the next few days as well as tons of pictures and videos from out at the 2014 Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival.

Happy Tuesday Eorzea! Limit Break Radio finally delivers on our promise of episode 10! On the show today we’re talking about all the juicy info that everyones favorite anthropomorphic FFXIV developer YOSHEEP shared with us on the Live Producer Letter at the 2014 Tokyo Game Show. The crew talks about the 3 new dungeons, Shiva battle, Rogue/Ninja preview and much more. We also unveil our new studio in Eorzea that was recently redesigned by Juxta Position so make sure you check out the Twitch video to see that.
Hey loyal Limit Break Radio listeners! We’ve finally updated our official store (aka the LBR Loot Vault) with a whole bunch of new stuff plastered with our “A Radio Returns” logo. We have new t-shirts, hoodies, bags, stickers, phone cases, mousepads and tons of other shit you don’t need! Everything in the LBR Loot Vault is Juxtaposition certified to bring you “joy of joys” and is in no way an attempt to make you do some marketing for Limit Break Radio. No way! It’s to show your enthusiasm for our awesome internet radio show! Right?…Right?
Can you tell how much I love consumer culture?
Seriously, though we do have some new stuff for sale, you can buy it if you want. We’ve even added the much requested Yosheep shirt! The store is hosted through CafePress and the quality is actually pretty good. I still have some of the classic LBR shirts and they seem to have held up pretty well over the years. I actually still use my messenger bag to this day.
Hey Limit Break Radio fans, I know we had announced that we were recording episode 10, but we weighed our options and decided that the Live Letter from Tokyo Game Show would make a much more interesting discussion then Patch 2.38. So, we’ve decided to hold back the full episode 10 until next Saturday September 27th 2014 at 3PM eastern when we’ll stream it live on our Twitch TV channel. Instead we took the opportunity to record a smaller show and just talk about Patch 2.38 before it became completely irrelevant and eclipsed by 2.4 hype. So we present episode 9.38! A single segment Limit Break Radio to tide you over until next week when we record episode 10. That means you have another week to enter our #BringSusan contest, PSN card giveaway and send emails to firstname.lastname@example.org (we could use some more emails by the way). We’re talking all things Patch 2.38 in this episode, Nexus weapons, Player housing woes and some very critical ‘quality of life’ changes that came along with this patch. Again, we’ll be live on Twitch Saturday September 27th at 3pm eastern for episode 10 of Limit Break Radio: A Radio Returns.
Hey Limit Break Radio listeners, we’d like to invite you to listen to Limit Break Radio LIVE on September 20th at 3pm eastern. We’ll be going over Patch 2.38, letting you call up and vent about Player Housing, announcing the winners of our #BringSusan and PSN giveaways, and much much more. Remember, we would like you to become a part of Limit Break Radio by calling in and sharing your opinions live on the air with the LBR crew. To call in to Limit Break Radio make sure you have the Skype account ‘limitbreakradio’ on your Skype contacts list. Just send us a message while the show is live and we’ll try to bring you on the show as a caller.
Hey Limit Break Radio listeners, so as you can tell we do not have a new show today. We apologize. This is for a few reasons: Final Fantasy XIV news has been slow as of late. Being that we’re building toward Tokyo Game Show and the 2014 Fan Fest, information and news has been, understandably, scant. At the moment we’re considering having our next live show after Patch 2.38 which should drop somewhere around September 18th. We’re also considering a range of topics for our discussion segment, but if you would like to make a suggestion we invite you to do so by sending us an email at email@example.com or tweeting us @limitbreakradio. And as always you can join in on the discussion by tuning in live at Twitch.tv and connecting with us on Skype by adding the account limitbreakradio.
Don’t forget we have 2 giveaways going on, the first from our friend at @FFXIV_PTFinders who donated a 60 day FFXIV time card. To enter into that drawing all you have to do is tweet @mattalos and @popcicle with the hashtag #BringSusan to encourage the NA Community Team to bring Susan Calloway as a performer to the 2014 Fan Fest. Our second giveaway comes from listener Zoe Daybreaker who gave us a $20 PSN card to anyone who emails us at firstname.lastname@example.org to tell us what you like or don’t like about the show, you will also be entered into a drawing for the PSN card. We’ll be announcing the winners on episode 10.
Fan Fest 2014 is fast approaching and Limit Break Radio is doing what we can to finalize our plans. Aniero and Nika will be in attendance on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and will be equipped with mobile recording gear, recording events and player reactions throughout the day. If you’re going to be at Fan Fest please try and find us and share your opinions about the events, announcements, and performances and maybe you will make an appearance on Limit Break Radio. We also intend on recording wrap ups for the days events, which will be like a mini-LBR live from the convention floor. If past Fan Fests are any indication we’ll only be doing wrap ups for Friday and Saturday but without a schedule of events, that could very well change. Additionally, Limit Break Radio will be completely mobile this year, meaning we don’t have a booth or access to a stable internet connection. It is for this reason that we cannot guarantee that we will be able to bring you live updates from the show floor or confirm the exact location of the recording of the wrap up. We will be live tweeting and maybe even live blogging from Fan Fest but in terms of the audio we produce, there’s a good chance we’ll only be able to produce and release that once the event is finished.
In addition to this, LBR is currently discussing the option of throwing some kind of after party in downtown Las Vegas on Saturday night. So after the convention wraps up you can take all of that energy and adrenaline and burn it off in the hottest party city in America with the coolest podcasters this side of Mor Dhona! Keep an eye to LimitBreakRadio.com as well as our Twitter and Facebook pages for more details as they’re confirmed.
