My first weaving, and 2 more to come for the class I'm taking... why am I taking a weaving class? Don't ask me, it's a requirement for that Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree, some way to "broaden my variety of media" or some hub bub of that sort.

FFXI character images weaved into blankets, make it happen jag!

It's at least something interesting to know. When you're really old you can make blankets and stuff!

I know how to crochet, and have made a couple scarves but that's about it! hehe

Here's the other project I was working on







Original idea was to do something related to Batman. And wings are one of my favorite things to do in art. There ya have it, the bat wing. The class really loved it. The curves were my favorite part about the project. I was just afraid I was going to break it because it was getting really thin for such a fragile material. Don't mind the bumps on the back, those are just impurities in the plaster, everyone had them. The teacher recommended to put it in the student show, might win an award, but I might add some color to it first.

Next school projects, another weaving with inspiration towards an ethnic group (I chose Japanese), and in sculpture, wood project that has to deal with a box, thinking I'll relate that one to some sort of entrapment and trying to escape.

I swear one of the projects looked like an owl, but everyone was trying to tell me it was an elephant. I still think they were lying, lol.

I wasn't sure what it was just cause of how it was sitting lol. Just looked like a blob but then the batman reference and picture #2 was like the switch going off and I can totally see it now.

Yep I'm still around Always a pleasure to see your work! The weaving you did looks nice, I'm not much into weaving so... can't really tell difference. Though I would tell you if it was atrocious and it most certainly isn't that ^^; And that sculpture first reminded me of the DRG af helm >_>; Still does, even though I can see the Bat wing lol XD

Anywho... for the request... since I forgot what I posted way back when... I'll just redo one Though it's gonna be a bit... more of a change prolly since I have more jobs now than I did last time ._.'

Wow, 2 months since I posted something. At least I was right, I have more time now the Spring Break is over. So here's another weaving done. I know, it's not FFXI related, but it was close, the colors are suppose to match Japanese ethnicity, but I was afraid it was turning out too Mexican. I'm showing my old one to show the size difference and a before/after view of this experience in weaving.




It was a lot of just playing around with one pattern and skewing it to different sizes. It turned out really well, a little intense to the eye (imo), but nevertheless, a neat piece of work.

I have 2 more weavings, both which are done. And these are totally different from the last 2. A few hints:
- They are FFXI-related.
- It's close to what Veloxe said, but not it.
- They are completely hilarious. (At least I think so.)
- They are completley awesome.
- They are very tiny.

Think you can figure it out? I should have pictures of them this week, so you have until then to figure out the answer, but I ain't telling.

I got to work on Sayl's drawing finally, still been a little busy, but I am in the Photoshop Lab working on it. It's in lineart form now, and I found a cool way to make this spell I have you doing look powerful. It's tweaking it just right to make it look awesome that I'm playing around with now. Sorry no preview or hints bigger than that at the moment. This is kinda a whole big surprise to the rest of the community.

I have a couple sketches and a drawing I want to show, but haven't been near a scanner lately to upload. I'll try to get around to that another time. And one last pic.


My sis went to another anime convention and bought me another DBZ item for my empty walls. She's such an awesome sister, and that's because she has an awesome brother. She knows how much I love DBZ, and she found something with Vegeta and he doesn't look crap. XD Like I said before, hard to find a good Vegeta poster with just Vegeta being awesome.
