Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the final week of Season 2 of the FFFL! That’s right everyone, Hyperbowl II is officially here! It’s been a long season, so lets take a look back at some of the highlights!

The season got off to a dramatic start full of collusion as the Edelweiss Avengers conspired to forfeit their week one match to the Super Senpai Megaforce. While the Megaforce was investigated and cleared of wrong doing, the Avengers were punished swiftly. They had two players dropped from their roster to be replaced with Biggs and Wedge and were also assigned the last overall pick next season.

This year saw the most dominant and impotent teams to every compete in the FFFL. While the Chickabos and Super Senpai Megaforce escaped the regular season with only one loss a piece, the Red Wings and BeemBo USA combined for an astonishing 23 losses. Had they not played in the final week of the season, it may have been a perfect 24.

Overall voting in the league was up by 212% this season, and that according to statistics I’ve just made up.

This was our first year where sponsorships were allowed and the Verminion Lords made great use of it, having a wealth of sponsors before their season started to tank.

This year saw our first trades in the league, and overall changes to teams were dramatically up from season one. However, they were concentrated around a few active GMs most notably Kallo and Juxta. In an effort to increase waiver wire activity, next season will see the introduction of injuries.

This year’s Hyperbowl features two non-hosts, good news for those who took the 10:1 longshot odds of that happening in Vegas.

Good evening ladies and gentlemen! The regular season is officially over and we have finally arrived at playoff time! Let’s start this playoff run by taking a look at the final standings for the regular season.

Eastern Division –

Chickabos (10-1-1)

Titan’s Banana Hammock (9-3)

Melusine Marauders (7-5)

Balamb T-Rexaurs (7-5)

Red Wings (1-11)

Western Division –

Super Senpai Megaforce (10-1-1)

Edelweiss Avengers (6-6)

Verminion Lords (5-7)

El Negro Grande (4-8)

BeemBo USA (0-12)

Yes, your eyes do not deceive you. We have two teams tied for first place overall at 10-1-1, one in each division. So if the Chickabos and the Super Senpai Megaforce meet up in the Hyperbowl, they will play their game on neutral territory. Beyond them, the Edelweiss Avengers and Titan’s Banana Hammock have also qualified for the post-season while the other teams are free to hit the golf course and start focusing on next year.

With no waiver wire available in the post season, let’s shift our focus to this week’s match-ups. And to our American viewers, why not cast a vote tonight that you can actually enjoy?!

Good evening everybody and welcome to your week 12 update in the FFFL! Our teams have competed hard through a vicious regular season. Everything from accusations of collusion, to attempted forfeitures, sponsors lost, bribery, and of course unsportsmanlike conduct. Any more bad behavior and we may be worse than the NFL. But through all of this, our teams have given it their all (except the Red Wings), and now we sit in the final week before the playoffs.

First over to the waiver wire where despite 6 LBR cast members being up for grabs, only one of them was selected! And of course, it was GM Juxta Position who traded away Hovernyan to select himself. This marks the first time a player has played for his own team.

Our current standings:

Eastern Division –

Chickabos (10-1)

Titan’s Banana Hammock (8-3)

Melusine Marauders (6-5)

Balamb T-Rexaurs (6-5)

Red Wings (0-11)

Western Division –

Super Senpai Megaforce (10-1)

Edelweiss Avengers (6-5)

Verminion Lords (5-6)

El Negro Grande (4-7)

BeemBo USA (0-11)

With the standings as they are, the Eastern Division is officially locked up. The Chickabos and Titan’s Banana Hammock will advance, however the Western Division still has some intrigue. With their win over the Avengers last week, the Verminion Lords have bought themselves a slim chance of making the playoffs. For this to happen, they will need to win this week and the Avengers would have to lose. That would then force a one day playoff to determine who advances.

This week’s match-ups after the jump!

Good evening FFFL fans far and wide and welcome to your week 11 update! This is a major week for the league as it could be the one that determines our playoff picture. More on that in a second as we first dive into a couple of league notes. Last week, a clerical error caused the Verminion Lords to not have their claim processed in time as they attempted to pick up Aniero off the waiver wire. As this was a league issue, the claim was allowed for this week and GM Juxta Position was allowed to make another pick for this week if he wanted. Being who he is, of course he opted to.

This lead to our first instance of two GMs wanting to select the same player as both Juxta and Malkythera submitted a claim on Estinien. As Juxta had the higher spot in the waiver order, he was awarded the player. He sends both Mog and Iroha to the waiver wire in exchange for Estinien and Aniero.

Our current standings:

Eastern Division –

Chickabos (9-1)

Titan’s Banana Hammock (7-3)

Melusine Marauders (5-5)

Balamb T-Rexaurs (5-5)

Red Wings (0-10)

Western Division –

Super Senpai Megaforce (10-0)

Edelweiss Avengers (6-4)

Verminion Lords (5-5)

El Negro Grande (4-6)

BeemBo USA (0-10)

Let’s take a look at some playoff possibilities!

First, the Super Senpai Megaforce and the Chickabos have secured their spot in the playoffs and should they both win this week will face off for the league’s best record next week. It should be noted that the team with the best record maintains home field advantage throughout the playoffs.

Titan’s Banana Hammock holds second place in the Eastern Division and is in control of their own destiny. A win either this week or next means they are playoff bound. If they were to lose both weeks and the Melusine Marauders win both weeks, they could be caught.

In the Western Division, the Edelweiss Avengers hold second place with the Verminion Lords nipping at their heels. The two teams play this week and a win means the playoffs for the Avengers. If the Verminion Lords win, then we’ll have to look at the results of next week.

The Balamb T-Rexaurs, despite having the same record as the Melusine Marauders have been eliminated from the playoffs. If the Banana Hammocks lose out, and both the T-Rexaurs and Marauders win out, the Banana Hammocks advance. If the Banana Hammocks lose out, and the Marauders win out, but the T-Rexaurs do not, then the Marauders advance. If the Banana Hammocks win a game, they advance.

Every other team has been eliminated from the playoff picture.

Good evening FFFL fans and welcome back from our one week break! Hurricane Merlwyb has cleared out and our mysteriously absent general managers have all returned from wherever it was they had gone, so the action can once again get underway! The extra week did not do much for the waiver wire however, as only one team made a change. The Melusine Marauders have released the marmots that Juxta killed in 1.0 as part of the special marmot defense force, yes specifically those marmots. In exchange, she’s acquired Malkeria off the wire who will join the squad this week.

Next week, we’ll be doing our playoff preview special where I’ll outline all the possibilities for who can still make it and what their chances are looking like. Currently, every team except the Red Wings, BeemBo USA, and El Negro Grande have a chance to make the post season, although the odds are growing increasingly dire for the Balamb T-Rexaurs and the Verminion Lords.

Our current standings:

Eastern Division –

Chickabos (8-1)

Titan’s Banana Hammock (6-3)

Melusine Marauders (5-4)

Balamb T-Rexaurs (4-5)

Red Wings (0-9)

Western Division –

Super Senpai Megaforce (9-0)

Edelweiss Avengers (6-3)

Verminion Lords (4-5)

El Negro Grande (3-6)

BeemBo USA (0-9)

Good afternoon FFFL fans! Normally, this is where I’d be getting you guys all the up to date action on what’s going on in the Final Fantasy Feast League. However, Hurricane Merlwyb is currently moving through Eorzea and all sporting events have been cancelled until the danger has passed. In addition, more than half of the teams general managers have gone missing, perhaps gathering for some sort of social event that may help shape the future of Eorzea itself!

Now what does this mean for the league? Well, nothing really! Everything gets pushed back by a week. Voting will open on Tuesday the 18th and run through that Saturday night. Also, attention general managers, the waiver wire will remain open through Monday the 17th at 11:59 PM so if you wanted to pick someone up, make sure to let Eskalia know.

With that said, here’s where the league currently stands.

Eastern Division –

Chickabos (8-1)

Titan’s Banana Hammock (6-3)

Melusine Marauders (5-4)

Balamb T-Rexaurs (4-5)

Red Wings (0-9)

Western Division –

Super Senpai Megaforce (9-0)

Edelweiss Avengers (6-3)

Verminion Lords (4-5)

El Negro Grande (3-6)

BeemBo USA (0-9)

We’ll see you guys next week. (And for real, if you’re at Fanfest make sure to come say hi!)

FFFLBanner

Good evening FFFL fans everywhere! Week 9 is upon us and I can safely say it has been a much more quiet week on the trade and waiver front.

In fact, all 10 of our teams have chosen to stick it out with their rosters for this week. Multiple GMs were questioned on their teams staying put, and almost all of them indicated a weak waiver wire as the primary culprit for their team’s inactivity leading into our ninth week of play.

With that in mind, let’s turn our focus to some playoff possibilities. With 4 games remaining to play and the top two teams in each division making it into the post season, the Red Wings and BeemBo USA have been eliminated from post-season contention. They’ll be out to play the role of spoiler or battle it out for worst record in the league and the number one overall pick next season. El Negro Grande has also been eliminated from a possible post-season berth leaving the Western Division as a three way race for the top two best records. Currently, the Verminion Lords are in third, but play the easiest schedule of any of the remaining teams giving them a chance to catch the Edelweiss Avengers for second place.

Over in the Eastern Division, things are much more tightly packed. While the Chickabos could still be caught for first place in the division, they most likely have a play-off spot secured, leaving three teams duking it out for the second spot. The Banana Hammocks, T-Rexaurs, and Marauders are all within one game of each other, with the hammocks holding the lead currently. All three teams still have difficult games on the schedule so the next 4 weeks should be a bloodbath for any teams playing one of them.

Our current standings:

Eastern Division –

Chickabos (7-1)

Titan’s Banana Hammock (5-3)

Balamb T-Rexaurs (4-4)

Melusine Marauders (4-4)

Red Wings (0-8)

Western Division –

Super Senpai Megaforce (8-0)

Edelweiss Avengers (6-2)

Verminion Lords (4-4)

El Negro Grande (2-6)

BeemBo USA (0-8)
