Limit Break Radio forums to close August 15th 2011

Saturday, August 6th, 2011

Hello everyone-

As you know, Limit Break Radio is preparing to make a full transition over to Gamer Escape and as we prepare to make a gradual transition we will be closing the LBR forums as of August 15th.

These forums have been very quiet in the last 8 weeks. If forums aren’t being used that, to me, says that it’s time to move discussions to either another location or format. We at LBR feel that a format shift, to something like a comment system or Twitter, wouldn’t be able to accurately serve those who like the community feeling of the forums as well as our Starbreakers. The good news is that we have started forming forums over at Gamer Escape for Limit Break Radio! We would like to encourage all of our users to register over at Gamer Escape or any of our subdomains and start posting in our forums on the Gamer Escape Radio forums.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this process or decision you can either post a response to this thread and I’ll be happy to address any issues publicly. I would also be happy to answer any questions by PM or email as well.

I would really like to thank everyone who has ever registered, posted, or even just read these forums. Thank you all so much for helping create a fun and vibrant community. We hope that this shift will reinvigorate the LBR community and we can continue that same spirit of openness, discussion and fun that we’ve had here at LBR for 5 years. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Thank you for your support of LBR! Make sure to get you Starbreaker status!

Sunday, June 26th, 2011

I want to take a moment to thank the generous support YOU gave to Limit Break Radio in our time of need. We stated our need and YOU answered the call! Thank you so much!

There have been a few donations that have gone unclaimed. We want to make sure everyone who has contributed to Limit Break Radio has proper access to their Starbreaker exclusive content. If you have made a donation but still haven’t received your Starbreaker benefits yet please send an email to and include your donation date, your email address, and your Limit Break Radio forum account name.

Lastly, we’re currently planning on recording Limit Break Radio episode 63 this upcoming Tuesday. At this time we don’t have the ability to stream the show live on Gamer Escape Radio, but there’s a slight chance we could have things fixed before Tuesday, stay tuned to our Facebook and Twitter pages for the latest on our PC status and also make sure to follow @RadioEsc on Twitter for the latest info about Gamer Escape Radio

Once again we’d like to thank you listeners for your continued strong support for Limit Break Radio. Keep listening!

Limit Break Radio needs your help! Become a Starbreaker Today!

Tuesday, June 21st, 2011

Early this morning, the power supply unit of Limit Break Radio’s main editing and broadcasting computer died suddenly. This poses a few problems. Limit Break Radio can still record shows, but without our main computer, editing will take longer and live streaming will be impossible.

As we said on the last episode of Limit Break Radio, we will be changing the Starbreaker extended content program and start phasing out donations, but there’s still time to be grandfathered into the program with a donation to Limit Break Radio today. The new extended content program will include extended content from other show produced by Aniero as well as all future extended content from shows produced by Aniero and possibly others.

It’s because of listeners like you that have supported Limit Break Radio in the past that we have been able to continue operating. We want to thank everyone who has been generous enough to provide LBR with a donation.

But if you listen to Limit Break Radio and you’ve been on the fence in the past don’t pass this up! We could really use the support to fix our machine and you get the satisfaction of knowing you helped us out of a tight spot AND tons of cool bonus content!

Thank you

Siren World Has Marked 3,166 Consecutive Victories in Besieged!

Friday, April 15th, 2011

On April 14, 2011, the chapter was closed on one of the greatest tales of heroism that Vana’diel has known. On this day, the brave adventurers of Siren World suffered their first Besieged defeat after a remarkable 3,166 consecutive victories—a spectacular record of unbroken triumph dating back to the system’s introduction on April 17, 2006.

Though their streak may have come to an end, the heroes and heroines of Siren World can take pride in knowing that tales of their valor will be sung in teahouses across the Empire for ages to come. We congratulate them on their efforts, and extend our best wishes to adventurers of all Worlds fighting to defend the Astral Candescence from the vile hands of the Beastmen!

Important Announcement Regarding the Recent Events in Japan

Sunday, March 13th, 2011

To the SQUARE ENIX community:

As you know, Japan has been hit with a terrible disaster this week. We have received and greatly appreciate all the kind words of concern from our fans and players.

As a result of the earthquake, we temporarily may have to shut down the servers hosting FINAL FANTASY XI and FINAL FANTASY XIV.

We are now analyzing the situation and studying very hard what we can do to fulfill our social responsibilities under the unusual circumstances, and to mitigate the inconvenience to our players. According to our best estimate at this point, we will temporarily have to shut down the servers shortly. We will give you as much advance notice as possible under the rapidly changing circumstances. If the servers are shut down, we will try to provide updates in the Information section of our Official Website below.

FINAL FANTASY XI Official Website

We sincerely apologize and appreciate your understanding.

Limit Break Radio Episode 59 LIVE: The Great Final Fantasy Debate

Monday, February 21st, 2011

Limit Break Radio is proud to announce our next show will be held on Saturday February 26th at 5:00pm EST and live streamed over uStream! We have an epic topic that’s been burning up Twitter all weekend…

Limit Break Radio will be conducting: The Great Final Fantasy Debate!

In my time in Vana’diel I have noticed that one conversation is universal amongst all Linkshells regardless of level, activity or experience. Yes, one topic will constantly serve to simultaneously unite and divide all Final Fantasy fans. The topic of which I speak is, of course, which Final Fantasy games are the best?

Now, as I’m sure many would say “there’s no way anyone can come to a consensus” or “the topic is way too huge” or “you idiots are going to f**k this up like you do everything”. And to that Limit Break Radio scoffs at you! *scoff* You see? We just scoffed at you. And we’ll do it again too! *scoff*!!!! That was a bigger scoff because it had more exclamation points…

Anyway, the point is to have the debate, not what the outcome actually is. The best part: we’re letting you, the listener, get in on the action. We’ll be chatting along with you as we live cast this show on uStream, we’ll also read your e-mails and tweets tagged with the hash tag #ffdebate AND we’ll also be taking some callers throughout the show, so be sure to add the Skype user name limitbreakradio to your Skype contacts list! We’ll give out instructions on how to “call-in” to Limit Break Radio during the broadcast.

Right now, we’re crafting the rules of the debate over Twitter with folks using the hash tag #ffdebate, so we’ll be tossing out questions like ‘should the Tactics or Crystal Chronicles games be included in this discussion?’ and letting you, the listener, decide how this debate should be carried out.

Lastly, remember that this is all in good fun. We love all the Final Fantasy games (some more than others) and while we may tease a certain game for some of its flaws or unique characteristics, we are in no way trying to personally belittle anyone. Think of this event like a roast for Final Fantasy. At the end of the day, we’re honoring the Final Fantasy series and Square-Enix for their games which we love (or hate) so much.

So join us Saturday February 26th at 5:00pm EST live on uStream and tweet with us using the hash tag #ffdebate and get ready for The Great Final Fantasy Debate!

New Twitter Hash Tag #ffdebate

Saturday, February 19th, 2011

Earlier today, Limit Break Radio revealed it’s topic for the next episode through Facebook and Twitter! A full announcement will go live on Limit Break Radio’s front page on Monday, but if you want to start getting in on the action early we’ve started discussing the topic through Facebook and Twitter, specifically through starting a new hash tag on Twitter to be used specifically for this episode.

The hash tag is: #ffdebate

Details about Limit Break Radios 59th episode will be posted on Monday, but I will answer a few questions now: yes, this will be streamed live on uStream, yes we will allow for callers and emails about the subject, no you can’t be a guest host and the show will take place on Saturday February 26th starting at 5pm EST so make sure to put it in your calendar!

Gallery 1988 presents: “Multiplayer” a Limited Poster Series

Sunday, January 16th, 2011

Those of you who know me know that I love art! My parents have always had an appreciation for art and as I grow older I find myself appreciating the art my contemporaries create. Many of the prints that reside on the walls of the apartment I share with Lady Fayne are rooted in TV shows we enjoy, or movies that have impacted us and music that we like.

Yesterday, the folks who operate Gallery 1988 opened a new exhibition showing off the works of artists that were influenced by video games called “Multiplayer”. And today, those works became available to order from their website. 34 artists have contributed to this exhibition and works from nearly all of them are available.

Obviously, Adam Hanson’s screenprinted posted A Muster Of Moogle will be of particular interest to the denizens of this community, but there are many other great works based off video games in this exhibit! Drew Millward’s twisted vision of Sam and Max distinctly harkens back to the work of Ralph Bakshi (can you spot all of the recognizable video game characters strung out in the background?) And one of my all time favorite artists, Kevin Tong, has produced a wonderful piece called My Tetris Heart Longs For Your Push. Other games that are included in this exhibition are: Duck Hunt, Super Mario Bros, Legend of Zelda, Wizards and Warriors, Castlevania, and more!

Now, while these posters are available for purchase, they are extremely limited! Some posters only have 25 copies and when they’re out: they’re out. So, if you come across something you love, I encourage you to snag it up quick! I know I did!
